State of Nevada Jobs are at Stake – Stay Informed and Get Involved!
January – 2016, AFSCME Local 4041, the State of Nevada Employees Union is closely monitoring the progress of Senate Bill 514, Section 37. This change could potentially privatize numerous positions within the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Originally, this study was only going to include the Division of Aging and Disability Services, as outlined in SB514. At a recent Public Hearing, DHHS Administrators announced that they are going to hire an Analysis Company to study the possibility of expanding Managed Care Organizations (MCO) to provide the services that are currently being provided by DHHS and its employees. They also announced that the study will also include the Divisions of Behavioral & Mental Health, Child & Family Services and any other services that can be managed by an MCO. The results of this study will be forwarded to Governor Sandoval, he then will forward it to Legislators who sit on the Interim Finance Committee (IFC) for a possible vote to expand Managed Care Organizations. If these changes occur they will directly impact the livelihood of you and your family!
Privatization efforts must be stopped. The best time to fight privatization is long before it happens! Take Action Now…
