Standing Together for Stronger Communities

During the negotiation process public employees often advocate for things the entire community benefits from. They negotiate for things like safer patient-to-nurse ratios, safer staffing at correctional facilities and safer workplaces. When state employees have the freedom to join strong unions and negotiate a fair return for their work, they have the power to help everyone succeed – whether or not they belong to a union.

Dedicated to the Public Good

During the Great Recession state employees went above and beyond, making sure the most vulnerable Nevadans were taken care of in the face of massive budget cuts. Now, with our state back on track, state employees deserve a voice on issues like workplace safety, benefits and compensation.

State Employees Deserve Equal Freedoms

Currently, state employees are the only public service workers in Nevada who don’t have the freedom to join together and negotiate over wages, benefits and working conditions. Nurses, correctional officers and highway maintenance workers should have the same voice on the job everyone else has.
