Our state employees union, Local 4041, has long advocated for reduced healthcare rates and improved benefits.

Our voices have been heard! On March 22, 2018, the Public Employees' Benefits Program (PEBP) Board has voted to reduce all covered state and retirees healthcare premiums for the first time since 2011.

All 70,000 covered individuals (CDHP, HMO/EPO, and Medicare Exchange) will receive a significant benefit that includes lowered rates and/or increased Medicare HRA funds starting Fiscal Year 2019.

"We're happy that the PEBP Board voted to reduce healthcare rates so that all state employees and retirees have the opportunity to access quality healthcare," said Harry Schiffman, AFSCME Local 4041 President.
