Nominations and Election Schedule for the 2026 AFSCME Convention Delegate
This notice is to inform you of the upcoming nominations and voting schedule for Nevada delegates to the AFSCME International Convention.
AFSCME Local 4041 will have eight delegates; their hotel and travel to Chicago will be paid in accordance with the Local 4041 member travel policy. Delegates must be able to attend the convention in full for all days, including travel days. The conference will be held August 17 -21, 2026, with travel days on Aug 16th and 22nd.
The top eight delegates, based on statewide votes, will be declared winners of the election.
Delegates to the convention will represent Local 4041 and vote on changes to our international constitution, set union policy by voting on resolutions, and elect a new AFSCME President and Secretary-Treasurer, as President Lee Saunders and Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride will retire at the close of the convention.
Please note: You are not voting now. You are nominating Local 4041 members for inclusion on the official ballot to be sent out the week of June 21, 2026.
ELECTION TIMELINE:

ELIGIBILITY FOR AFSCME CONVENTION DELEGATE
To be eligible, a member must be a member in good standing of AFSCME Local 4041 for at least one (1) year immediately preceding the election and must have paid full dues from April 2025 to April 2026.
NOMINATION PROCESS
- Self-nominations are permitted
- You can only nominate other AFSCME Local 4041 members
- To be eligible to nominate, you must be a union member who paid full dues in the month of April 2026
- All nominations must be made using the form included with this notice. You can also download the form at www.nvafscme.org
- Each nominee must be on a separate form and filled out completely
- No walk-in nomination will be accepted
Nomination forms must be received by mail or email no later than 12:00 PM on June 15th, 2026.

ELECTION PROCESS
The election will take place electronically from June 21st to June 29th. All Local 4041 members in good standing, and who have paid their full dues for April 2026, will receive an email and/or text message with a unique link to an electronic ballot from our election vendor, ElectionBuddy. All ballots must be cast no later than 12:00 PM on June 29, 2026.
If you do not receive a ballot starting on June 21st, 2026, please call 866-255-4041 for assistance.
For candidates, if you would like to submit a biography, you must do so by June 18, 2026, no later than 12pm, to electioncommittee2026@nvafscme.org
Election results will be posted on www.nvafscme.org on June 29th or soon after.
